(Un)build Tea Pavilion

In the fall of 2025, Clara He and Henry Chung brought their "Unbuild Pavilion" project to our lakeside. Within a single month, this tea pavilion was brought to life by human hands—our own, our gardener Waldo, Dan, and a community of friends including Sage, her partner, Xiao Huang, and their companions. Since its completion, the architectural installation has stood as a silent observer of the seasons. It witnessed the leaves turn gold and sheltered our gaze during this winter’s heavy New York snows. Using simple wooden straps, the pavilion creates a reciprocal bond: as we experience the space, the space experiences us. It is only through this physical presence that we truly grasp the sublime shift of the seasons.
